Secret Harbor seeks grants from a variety of organizations including private and family foundations, corporations, civic organizations and some church groups. Secret Harbor also receives multi-year grant funding from United Way of Snohomish County for two programs and is the recipient of two grants from United Way of Skagit County. Grant funding plays a key role in our ability to provide comprehensive services to children with extraordinary needs.
Private and Family Foundations and Donor Advised Funds. Many corporations, individuals or families have set up private and family foundations. Others may have donor advised funds with their financial advisors or local Community Foundations that provide grants on an annual or occasional basis. Secret Harbor welcomes inquiries from foundation trustees or administrators with an interest in having positive, lasting impact on the lives of children who have experienced serious trauma and family disruption. We hope you will learn more about Secret Harbor, share your guidelines and invite us to apply for funding.
Community and Church Organizations. Many people join organizations that raise funds for charitable causes and then distribute them as a group.
- Secret Harbor welcomes invitations to speak before groups of all kinds and sizes – or to make an application for funding. Word-of-mouth is the most effective way to recruit foster parents and spread the word in the community about the great work of Secret Harbor.
- If your group might consider hosting a collection or a small benefit for Secret Harbor, we would love to work with you.
